For four years

my life has been consumed with everything pinks & purples, princesses, & girlie! I've absolutely loved it but we found out on Tuesday that it will all now be about blues, trucks, getting dirty, and balls.

It's a boy!

Just for the record... I knew... but no one believed me. I'm now two for two. Maybe IF (notice that is a big if) there is a next time my husby will believe me when I tell him what the sex is. :-)

We took KR with us to the ultrasound appointment. Which on a side note I can't believe how mature she is (she's only 3- yes I know she will be 4 in less than I month but I'm holding on to 3 until the last day!) but she seems to understand all of it. I made sure to tell her that the picture will be a black and white picture and kind of hard to tell what the baby looks like so she wouldn't think her sibling was going to look like an alien.

Her response- Mom, I know that... the baby will look like a real baby when it's ready to come out, duh. (which I don't know who taught her that word... but thanks! ugh) .

Me- Okay, well KRae we don't know if it's a boy or girl yet but I don't want you to be sad if it's not what you wanted.

K- Ugh, mom... I know we have to wait to hear what the doctor says. Sometimes I want a brother and sometimes I want a sister. So it's okay if it's a boy or girl. I don't care I just love the baby.

Me- Well okay then. Glad we had this talk.

At the doctor's I laid on the table as the ultrasound tech checked out the baby. The tech told us it's a boy and I looked at Reed who was beaming and then at K sitting on his lap. The two of them looked like they were about to burst! It was the best moment ever! Reed had convinced himself it was a girl, I think so he wouldn't be let down if they told us it was. He (we) wanted a little boy so bad to complete our perfect family. Plus, he needs someone on his team and I'm going to try my best not to ruin this little boy (not that it will work but I'm going to try)... I'm not saying anything bad about K other than she is my clone! I will leave it at that but if you know me... you know why this is hard for Reed. haha.

Back to KR being super mature & the sweetest (which just for the sake of argument we'll say is part of the cloning of me) girl. After we found out while the tech was still looking around checking out the baby KR climbed down off of Reed's lap to stand by the table. She stood there and held my hand... smiling. Another moment I don't ever want to forget.

After we left it was time for the phone calls to begin. We called everyone- smiling ear to ear!! Everyone (almost) was just as excited as us! As soon as I was done with my appt the sis called from her oh-so-fabulous trip to Indonesia (almost midnight there) to hear the news. :-)

Now, we play the figure out what to name him (which I think we know but aren't telling yet), register for baby stuff, shop shop shop, decorate, and paint!

More to come!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BABY TUTTLE!!!!!!!!

I'm so proud of Kailee! :-) And that's hilarious that you think she got her "sweetness" from you. I think she got it from her aunt.
